Vintage Etsy Roundup #2: The Chair Edition

"Any man today who returns from work, sinks into a chair, and calls for his pipe is a man with an appetite for danger." - Bill Cosby

For some people, vintage chairs remind them of their childhood and their grandparents. A good chair was the cornerstone of a room. It brought endless memories of joy, long talks and Christmases spent away from home.

But if you're like other people, like me, you just like how vintage chairs look. Come on, they're cool. You know it. Chairs from the 60s and 70s just seemed so modern and simple, unlike the frightening concoctions that came out of the 90s (bulky chairs with floral pattering, anybody?). And so launches the second edition of Vintage Etsy Roundup: the CHAIR edition!

($950.00 / The Vintage Supply Co.)

($300.00 / LisaBRetroStyle2)
($750.00 / Peter and Grove)

($225.00 / Hindsvik)

Vintage Formica Side Tables

Looks very retro, huh? I bought it from the same woman who sold me the vintage couch back in July.

The top of the side table (I fibbed--I only bought one) is made of formica, so it's super smooth. It cost me $25 in cash and was in perfect condition, so win-win for moi. They just don't make side tables like they used to...

Vintage Salt and Pepper Shakers, The Odyssey

"I cook with wine, sometimes I even add it to the food." - W.C. Fields

Last week I had an epiphany: I need a formica kitchen table. Then I had another. I need vintage salt and pepper shakers!

I spent a whole weekend (okay, an hour) looking for these suckers but I ended up being relatively empty-handed and grumpy. Vintage salt and peppers shakers aren't commonplace here in Minnesota, as least from what I've seen. So I took my efforts online to Etsy.com, and came across quite a frightening but at rare times interesting collection of these coveted spice holders. As they say in Germany, suss.

Here are the three choices I'm currently in the runs to purchase:

($16.00 / VioletQVintage)

($20.00 / AlaModern)

($16.00 / NickandNessies)

I'm a terribly indecisive person (I'm a poor excuse for a Scorpio), so which one do you like the most?
